Golf rules they can use on the course

Give young golfers time to understand the rules, revisit unfamiliar situations and ask questions. Knowing what to do can make a round more enjoyable.

Written for younger golfers

Junior-friendly wording, illustrations and explanations of golf terms help children understand each situation. Standard wording is also available as their reading confidence grows.

Remember more through practice

Revisiting a rule helps turn an unfamiliar situation into something a golfer recognises. Saved answer reviews and further quizzes with a subscription make regular practice part of their learning.

See which rules need more practice

Look through a child's answers together to see what they understand and where they are unsure. Each explanation gives parents and coaches something specific to discuss or practise on the course.

A junior golfer considers a ball that has bounced back out of the hole.

Part of a junior golfer's routine

A short quiz before a lesson can give a coach something to discuss alongside swing practice. After a round, a parent and child can revisit their saved answers and talk about similar situations they met on the course.

Quizzes at your own pace leave room for those conversations. Repeated practice with a subscription lets juniors check their understanding over time, while saved results help you see how they got on.

Frequently asked questions

What is RuleReady?

RuleReady is an online golf rules quiz service for juniors, parents and clubs. Illustrated situations, junior-friendly language and answer explanations support Rules learning at home and alongside golf coaching.

Are the golf rules quizzes suitable for children?

Junior-friendly wording uses simpler language and explains unfamiliar golf terms. Parents or coaches can read and discuss the questions with younger children; confident readers can practise independently. Standard wording is also available, so you can choose what suits the learner.

Can parents see which golf rules their child finds difficult?

Yes. Create a parent account and connect your children. Your dashboard shows each child’s quiz history, pass rate, progress and questions they have missed. You can review answers and find practical activities to work through together.

How does repeated practice help junior golfers?

Returning to familiar situations gives children another chance to recall the rule and explain why it applies. Subscribers can take further quizzes, while everyone can revisit their saved answer reviews. The current collection has ten questions, so later quizzes repeat situations from that collection.

Can I practise without a time limit?

Yes. Choose an own-time quiz to work at your own pace. Timed sittings and per-question countdowns are also available when you want a different challenge.

How can clubs use quizzes in junior golf coaching?

The junior-section dashboard shows participation, scores over time and the rules learners are finding difficult. Authorised junior-team staff can review individual results, while parents retain their own family access.

What is included in the free quiz?

Each account includes one free quiz with ten different illustrated questions. Choose your own pace, an overall time limit or a countdown for each question. You can review all your answers afterwards. No payment details are needed.

What happens after my free quiz?

You can keep reviewing your result. Further quizzes require a family subscription, at £4.99 per month or £49 per year, or access funded by your club. A family subscription covers you and all your connected children. The starter collection contains ten illustrated questions, so questions repeat in later quizzes. View the plans.

Does RuleReady replace the official Rules of Golf?

No. RuleReady is a learning aid. For the definitive Rules and a ruling on a particular situation, consult the official Rules of Golf and the committee responsible for your competition.
